WP10: Performance and Optimisation of TCP over Satellite Links

چکیده

We describe many issues with TCP over satellite performance in relation to two scenarios: hybrid and backbone. We examine what e ect having a backbone of 255ms (satellite link) has as opposed to having just a 70ms delay. We explore, through simulation, the e ect of Tahoe, Reno and SACK TCP on this performance, in the context not just of droptail queueing but also varying settings of the parameters. We also performed studies of tuning for TCP over a delay line.
